The Shrike is one of the world's finest examples of this fast and capable cabin twin. It was fully refurbished inside and out beginning with its acquisition in 2002, and it now has state-of-the-art avionics residing in a completely new instrument panel, including dual GPS, weather radar, strike finder, and in-flight data send and receive capability, including e-mail. Operated by C&E Managing Shareholder Gary L. Evans from her initial acquisition in 2002 through March, 2015, N799CE was recently sold to noted aviation attorney and former Naval Aviator Dan Barks, who promised to continue maintaining her with the great admiration and respect she had been given in exchange for so many decades of excellent service and perfectly uneventful flight operations. In fact, during the entire period of time N799CE was operated by C&E, including during her refurbishment that spanned several years, she never failed on any flight and delivered 100% dispatch reliability. We salute Dan for his ongoing care and feeding of a sublime aircraft we have been so very fond of and greatly miss already!
Coats & Evans not only represents the aviation community, it is an active participant. Coats & Evans uses three aircraft to support its active practice. These aircraft enable Coats & Evans' attorneys to travel quickly and efficiently to trials, hearings, depositions, inspections and meetings without submitting to the vagaries and risk of airline schedules, delays, routes and security concerns. This capability saves Coats & Evans' clientele significant legal fees otherwise incurred in travel time. The aircraft operated by Coats & Evans include:
Aero Commander 500S Shrike
Piper Aerostar 700P
Beechcraft Bonanza F33A
The aircraft operated by Coats & Evans are based at the firm's state of the art aviation operations and conference facility, located at Houston's David Wayne Hooks Airport (KDWH). This facility not only houses the aircraft operated by the firm, it provides first class conference and office facilities, as well as aviation flight planning capabilities.
